Bosom Buddies – An Inspiration for All

I was honoured to be in the presence of such an amazing group of women last Saturday.  There was so much positivity, excitement and energy when the Bosom Buddies let me photograph them as a team at Lake Banook and shared a little of their world of what dragon boating really is.  I am forever in awe of these mothers, sisters, wives and friends who have no doubt overcome unimaginable challenges and who encompass such grace, support and strength. Check out their website for more information – as per their site…

Bosom Buddies is a group of breast cancer survivors committed to support and care for each other, to paddle as a dragon boat team and to increase our self-esteem while building our physical and emotional health.

So when you see a dragon boat make the spray fly
You should stand and salute as they go gliding by
And may each Bosom Buddy row to this refrain:
The Cancer I’ve beaten is the dragon I’ve slain.

Allen Sutherland - I find it inspiring to see how a crises of life can bring people together. Having had several close friends tackle this enemy, this blog gives one comfort. Social media has the ability to highlite the best in all of us. Good job Steph.
