Oh my Dear!

During our “creative session” section of Liz & Andrew’s wedding day I spotted some amazing light and a phenomenal field along our travels in between locations and we just had to stop.  Liz got right into the idea and hiked up the dress and her and her new husband headed up the hill – LOVE IT!!!

I can’t say I’ve ever been threatened by an animal on one of my photo shoots before but on Saturday July 24th I really did think for a split second that we might be charged by a seeming young deer that started snorting some really weird noises. All I could think was “don’t look it in the eyes” like it was a huge bear or something & sadly wished I had of listened to my father when I camped one of those few times as a child. I’m certainly no wildlife photographer but I tried my best here – in fact I don’t even remember taking the picture.  All ended well though as you can see and a circle of friends singing a University of Bishop’s song made the night special too.

Wedding Partay

Liz and Andrew were married at White Point last Saturday and the rock setting made for a spectacular backdrop.
More shots to come tomorrow…

Love

There are times in life when you experience something so profound it is impossible to explain exactly what is was that you were feeling or how to convey the magnitude of the power of that precise moment.

I’m not going to go into great detail but suffice it to say John was in an athletic accident years ago that resulted in a spinal injury that paralyzed him.  Over time and no doubt an unimaginable journey to most, he was able to move again and eventually walk.

He walked his gorgeous bride down the aisle on Saturday and also insisted we go to Hunt’s Point which is a very special place for Heather and certainly now me.  The way he looked at Heather and the way Heather looked back at him blows me away everytime I think about it.

True love – untouchable.

John you are an inspiration to me and countless others.  You are both beautiful people inside and out.

I wish you both all the love, happiness and laughter that life can bring.  Thank you so much for making part of your phenomenal wedding day.

Summer

I think every family should have their portrait taken regularly.  Not just because I’m a photographer and LOVE photography like it’s candy or a hot and steamy Starbucks latte on a cold winter day but because the moments in life go by so fast when we are working like dogs and playing like cats (please note I do know and realize writing is not my forte).

I definitely take a lot of photos of my own family but I’m hardly in any of my own family portraits.  For years I wanted to get my newly formed family portraits done and last May I finally did and got a photo session done with Shannon from LifeStyle portrait photography.  She did an INCREDIBLE job and I loved every minute of it - I was finally in pictures with my children having fun and looking good (oh yes I did book a hair appt the morning of my shoot – best idea ever!)

So when Shannon from LifeStyle contacted me a few months ago to ask me to take shots of her and her new bundle of joy – I was super excited & I’ll be honest… a little/ lot intimidated.

Shannon I was so honoured to be part of your photo shoot and see that amazing bond you share with your gorgeous girl – thank you so much!!!

Helene Yule - BEAUTIFUL..i loved every picture! I could see & feel the mother/baby bond...amazing job! You are truly talented Steph..i wish you were still in Vancouver..xo!

Connie & Philip

Saturday July 3rd was the 2nd opportunity I got to shoot at Dalvay by the Sea in PEI and it didn’t disappoint.  Connie and Philip had a gorgeous ceremony by the lake with their 3 adorable daughters in the bridal party (more pics to come later ;) .

Tristan & Rayne and boy did it ever Rain…

Well Saturday July 10th definitely put us up to the test – it was easily one of the most challenging weather days I’ve ever shot a wedding in as it was sporadically raining (I’m talking torrential downpours here and there) but I have to tell you – it helps a million % when you are shooting such an amazingly (new word of day) sweet couple such as Tristan and Rayne and their spectacular family and friends!  We had a phenomenal day and took our opportunites to shoot outdoors every second we could.  The view was to die for and the love was what we live for.

Karin Beamer - You two look beautiful and happy..... what a gorgeous setting for a wedding. Much love to you both......

Enza Baluke - All I have to say is WOW!!! What a beautiful couple and the background is amazing, great pictures.....so happy for you both and the family, wishing you all the BEST life can bring. Congratulations !!

Emma Rose - I second that, Steph, that top image is smooth and delicious!!!

Meredith - The first one gave me shivers. Great work, Steph! (Dang, you guys. Lookin' good!)

Jacinta & Andrew – An intimate wedding

Sweet and simple. Jacinta & Andrew had an intimate wedding with the ceremony and reception both held at the Saege Bistro in Halifax.  They were wed on June 25 on a beautiful summer day and now live in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

The Door

Scouting cool, fun & intriguing locations is part of any good photographers agenda to give their clients a unique background and help tell a part of the story in the photograph.  I love giving my clients photographs they have never even dreamed about that will definitely stand out from the crowd.  The beauty of the imagination always astounds me and the artists who created this installation have a true gift of genius in my opinion.

I love photographs that make you think or feel something even if it’s only for a minute.  I couldn’t help but love this location and think about old Twilight Zone reruns.

Tristan & Rayne – The Proposal / STEPHinc.com

Rayne proposed Jan 8th, 2010 in Orlando at Disney World. They had their first family Christmas together with Tristan’s family. They had a wonderful vacation together and, on the 8th, spent an entire day at Disney, riding roller coasters, screaming down the tower of terror, and finally meandering around “the world” at Epcot. After dinner in Mexico, beer in Germany, and dessert in France (the only place to get dessert, really) they went to England to watch the fireworks over the lake, then walked back to Canada where he popped the question.

Much like their engagement, Tristan & Rayne’s wedding will be an international event. People are coming from Australia, England, Spain, Ireland and, of course, Canada. The wedding this coming Saturday July 10 will take place in the afternoon next to a lake with a casual picnic theme. The reception and dinner will be at the yacht club nearby.

Here are a few more of their Engagement Shoot shots from the metropolis we know as Halifax, Nova Scotia.
